Services

Two Suns Glass utilises a range of techniques including leadlighting, slumping, fusing, sand blasting and painting. Working with glass allows Andy the hands-on material engagement that he enjoys while enabling a dynamic exploration of light.

Stained Glass & Leadlighting

While working in a distinct style, we are open and willing to collaborate with you to reach the perfect outcome for your individual project. Whether it be Contemporary, Art Nouveau, Art Deco, Edwardian or Victorian we can create the ideal glass for your needs. We provide a full service which includes design, manufacture and installation.

Repair & Restoration

With years of experience in the field we can assess whether to do an in situ repair, or whether the panel needs to be taken out and brought back to the studio to be partially or fully rebuilt, depending on the condition of the lead. With access to a wide variety of antique glass, we can more easily match older original glass, ensuring the repair work is as authentic as possible.

Sandblasting

We can create original contemporary sandblasted glass as well as reproducing other more traditional designs. The technique can be used to create one off artworks, where through blasting the glass to different levels you can give the feeling of depth and three dimensionality to your images. It’s also really effective as an obscuring treatment for privacy.

Kiln Formed Glass

We can produce both fused and slumped glass. Fused glass is the process of joining compatible sheets together when heated in the kiln to temperatures exceeding 800 degrees. It’s a technique ideal for art projects, platters, bowls and lighting.

Slumped glass is also created by heating the glass in the kiln until it becomes soft and gravity allows the glass sheet to drape over the mold and take the desired shape. Unlike fused glass, slumped glass can be toughened, making it ideal in an architectural context, for example in (shower screens, wall partitions or windows)
